What got you hired for your first GTME role?
Hey everyone! I'm Gursimar, excited to be here. Location: New Jersey, right outside NYC Background: For the last 2 years I've freelanced in marketing strategy and technology for SMBs, agencies, coaches, and nonprofits. That's ranged from building n8n + AI fulfillment systems for a marketing agency, to designing content systems for coaches, to running websites and email programs for nonprofits. Outside client work I've hosted a lot of events through various orgs, ranging from professional summits at the WTC to large nonprofit events. Clay Goals: I'm building my skills as a GTM engineer and am really interested in the startup space, especially helping early-stage teams find their first customers. Right now I'm building an AI job-search engine on Clay + Claude that finds startup roles and tailors my resume to each one. Next up is learning signal-based outbound and building a portfolio of real workflows. Fun Fact: I'm a big hiker. Just did a 20-mile hike last weekend! Burning Question(s): For anyone who landed their first GTME role recently, what got you hired: a portfolio of builds, outbound, or referrals? And any tips for a recent grad trying to break into GTM work? Let's connect! linkedin.com/in/gursimar-singh-a63023154
