How to Revert a Workbook and Debug Contact Table Issues

·
·

Hi Clay, How can I revert a workbook? Something from my flow went very wrong. I have a workbook with 2 tables, companies and contacts. Both tables contain csv data of companies and contacts that I uploaded. Additionally I push more contacts from the company table to the contacts table when I

  1. 1.

add the primary contact (a property in a company) to the contacts table and

  2. 2.

use Clay to search for more contacts to add

I tried running all the companies and something went wrong. It's overwriting existing rows in the contact table and is going blank. I tried reverting but in the version history I do not have an option to revert.

  1. 1.

    How do we revert?

  2. 2.

How do I debug to see which company enrichment action is overwriting key data

Unfortunately, we don't have a direct way to revert a workbook. However, to prevent unintended updates in the future, you can turn off auto-update for your table. Here's how: 1. Click the three-dot icon beside the table name. 2. Select the auto-update option to turn it off. To debug which company enrichment action is overwriting key data, we recommend testing enrichments on a few rows before updating the entire table. This approach allows you to identify any issues before they affect your entire dataset. To help you further, could you provide more details about the specific enrichment actions you're using in your company table?

What you don't have a revert? I'm trying to revert an individual table inside a workbook that should still work.

    2. 2.

I did test 1 by 1 but I couldn't find errors in a table of thousands of rows when I can't see which row it updates. How can I narrow that down?

Unfortunately, we don't have the ability to revert individual tables. For data recovery, our system only allows: ** Restoring completely deleted tables from the "Trash" tab ** Undoing recently deleted rows through the alert/confirmation that appears briefly in the bottom-right corner To help narrow down which enrichment actions are causing issues in your large table, you can: 1. Use the Views feature to analyze specific subsets of data: • Switch to "Errored Rows" view to identify problematic entries • Use "Fully Enriched Rows" view to see successful updates 2. Turn off auto-update to prevent further unintended changes: • Open your table settings dropdown • Select "Enable/Disable Auto-update" • Confirm to disable the feature This will give you more control over when enrichments run and help isolate the source of the data overwrites.

Hey Adam, thanks for reaching out. While unfortunately table versioning is not possible we can debug this and resolve the issue. Overwritten data points typically come from another table that is sending data into this original table. Writing data from one table into another will create a net new row in the table where this data is being sent. This workflow has gotten a bit mixed up and I'm happy to refund some credits to you so we can redo this. Would suggest re-uploading both of these CSV's into their own blank tables in this workbook so we can start from scratch and on the proper footing. I've refunded you the credits spent on this workflow for recreation. :)
