Experiences with Catch-All Email Validation Using Findymail

·
·

Would you recommend sending to catch-all emails when they are validated? Saw that findymail claims to have “solved” the catch-all email validation problem. Anyone has experiences here? In my clay table i see that the other top 3 providers like debounce or zerobounce say that the emails are not valid while findymail says they are. Who should i believe?

By default, catch-all emails are returned as valid in our system, but you should be cautious with them. While these are often real emails, there's uncertainty about whether they belong to the specific individual or if they're aliases. For a more conservative and safer approach, we recommend using the "only mark safe to send" option, which will exclude catch-all emails from your valid email list. This option is available with both ZeroBounce and LeadMagic integrations. Niko N. If they are validated then yes Debounce/Zerobounce do no validate catch-all emails. Clay UI might be a bit misleading here in indicating "invalid" but if you click on the cell details from Debounce/Zerobounce, the actual status they return should just be "catch-all" ie. "they don't know if valid or invalid".

Actually, Clay's handling of catch-all emails is quite transparent. By default, catch-all emails are returned as valid, not invalid. For both Zerobounce and Debounce integrations:** Zerobounce marks catch-all emails as valid with "catch-all" as a sub-status ** Debounce similarly marks "risky" emails as valid by defaultYou have the option to be more selective by enabling the "only mark safe to send" toggle, which will then exclude catch-all emails from your valid email list. This is an optional setting for users who want to take a more conservative approach. By default, we treat catch-all emails as valid in our email validation process. While these are often real emails, we acknowledge there's some uncertainty about whether they belong to the specific individual or if they're aliases. For users who prefer a more conservative approach, we offer an "only mark safe to send" option. When enabled, this option will exclude catch-all emails from your valid email list. This functionality is consistent across our validation providers, including ZeroBounce and LeadMagic, which both offer the same "safe to send" toggle option to exclude catch-all emails.I cannot make claims about Findymail's specific approach to catch-all email validation, as the provided information doesn't contain details about their specific methodology for handling catch-all emails. I'm Findymail's founder so a bit biased here but yes, I do believe what we claim haha. We have a guarantee of <5% invalid emails, similar to what Zerobounce & others offer on non catch-all emails.

As a customer support service, I don't provide opinions on specific companies' claims about email validation solutions. Instead, I can explain that email verification is a technical process that involves several key mechanisms:• Spam trap detection• Format and syntax checking• Domain verification• Individual mailbox validation using SMTP protocolThese components work together to authenticate email addresses and ensure they connect to real people or organizations. This helps businesses maintain clean mailing lists, reduce costs, and improve email deliverability rates. Sources: What is Email Verification? | Clay What is Email Verification? | Clay

By default, we treat catch-all emails as valid in our email validation process. While these are typically real emails, there is some uncertainty about whether they belong to the specific individual or if they're aliases. Our email validation process includes several key steps:1. Spam trap detection to identify and remove potentially problematic email addresses 2. Format and syntax verification to check for proper email structure 3. Domain verification through DNS records 4. Individual mailbox validation using SMTP protocolFor users who want to be more conservative in their approach, we offer a "Safe to Send" option that will only mark emails as valid if they are explicitly verified as safe for sending, excluding catch-all addresses from the valid email list. I understand the curiosity, unfortunately since this is part of what makes Findymail stand out among other similar solutions, I'm unable to share details on the catch-all validation process. Kind of our "secret sauce"!
