Merging Lead and Contact Lists in Clay for Better Insights

·
·

Hi Clay Team, I’m currently working with two Clay lists and could use your help:

  1. 1.

A lead list with company names

  2. 2.

A second list using the “Find People” template, which searches for relevant contacts (e.g. HR personnel) based on the companies in the first list.

The second list uses the first one as input to identify potential decision-makers. Now I’d like to merge the results of both lists so that I can have a single view showing:

  • Which companies have a contact found,

  • And which do not.

Is there a way to do this in Clay — for example, via a merge, link, or join between the two lists? Unfortunately, I can't share the actual lists due to data privacy reasons, but I hope the explanation is clear enough.

To combine your company list with the "Find People" results, you can use the "find contacts" search option in the enrichment tab. Here's how: 1. Select the option to save the results into the company table. 2. Run enrichments for each contact found (you can set a limit of 1 result per company). 3. The results will be in the same table, showing which companies have contacts and which don't. This method automatically links your Find Companies table to your Find People table, allowing you to see all the information in one view. To merge and analyze your two lists using Clay's lookup feature, you can use the "Lookup Multiple Rows in Other Table" action. Here's how: 1. In your company list, add a new column. 2. Select "Lookup Multiple Rows in Other Table" as the enrichment. 3. Choose your "Find People" list as the table to search. 4. Set the company domain or name as the target column to match. 5. Configure the filter operator (e.g., "contains" or "exact match"). 6. Optionally, set a limit for the number of rows to return per company. This will bring the matching contact data into your company list, allowing you to see which companies have contacts found and which don't.
