Hey team, what are your experiences on sequencers (eg instantly), email warmup providers and all the other fun stuff related to distributing a campaign? Asking bc i’m churning from instantly as i don’t find it very user friendly and the volume part feels spammy 🥲
Wondering best practices/trade-offs for domains. Do you set them up yourself normally, any pointers on cost vs time vs lock in PS on warmup – I had some serious case of sunk cost fallacy moving away from instantly as i purchased the domains there and can’t migrate them.
Use Cloudflare to buy domains, then Premium Inboxes to buy inboxes. After that, add the inboxes to Instantly- it should be smooth.
Oof yeah the Instantly domain situation is exactly why I always say - own your domains separately. Namecheap or Porkbun, never through the sending tool. Classic lesson. Setup is pretty straightforward once you own them - connect to Google Workspace or M365, configure SPF DKIM DMARC, then plug into whatever sequencer you go with. Keeps everything portable. On the Instantly domains - have you actually tried to transfer them? Most domains are transferable after 60 days, might just be inconvenient rather than actually locked.
Hi Stephanie The similar situation I came across when working with third party sequencers for a client. What I did was built a custom email sequencer platform acc to the multiple needs of the client and its now running very smoothly for them. You can also connect it ti multiple GTM tools like Clay, Heyreach, Apollo, Prospeo and your CRM too. It costs one time only and you are never dependent on third party providers. If sounds good I can also help you on this. Lets connect over DM
On instantly - have tried to get in touch with support, all i’m getting is: domains owned by instantly, you won’t be able to get them
Not super happy about it bc they’re all warmed up now. But i really don’t like instantly
Ayaan A. that sounds pretty good, so it’s an email sequencer or?
Also wondering if any of you has run sequences directly through clay and what your thoughts are there? Cost/quality/etc
Hey Stephanie W., I think the best people to ask this is agency owners because they have experimented with the most permutations and combinations of tools. There are platforms that do several things but are only average at them. There are platforms that do only one thing but do it really well, and the burden of coordinating different tools then falls on the person orchestrating these campaigns. If I were in your shoes, and if I was not an agency or using an agency, I would start with an all in one tool (especially if I had other priorities), find out where things break, replace them with specialized tools one by one. The landscape of these tools is extremely wide too. See if this interactive list of tools in this space helps you shortlist the right ones.
