How to Build a High-Quality TAM List for Global IT Asset Management Campaigns

Hey everyone! Looking for some advice from people who've built TAM lists before. I'm working on a 150–200 company list for a brand awareness campaign for a company that handles global IT asset procurement, retrieval, storage, and end-to-end lifecycle management across 85+ countries. The challenge is that this isn't a narrow ICP list—it's a broader TAM. I've been using Apollo, but I feel like the available filters only get me so far. I can filter by industry, headcount, funding, etc., but they don't really help identify companies with things like globally distributed teams, international hiring, or other signals that make them a strong fit. How would you approach building a high-quality list in this situation? Would love to hear how you'd tackle this or any resources you'd recommend. Thanks!

Hq and other office locations are standard firmographics that most providers have. Try waterfall in clay to get this info. International hiring can be found via keywords using Sumble data. There are various other providers that have jobs info but I have used Sumble and it works.

pradyunmayap Agreed with Tyee - it's a firmographics issue.Instead of a static headcount number, alternatives watch how headcount moves, so a pattern like international growth actually shows up. Lusha is my preference, but there are others you can look at. I know that they have custom triggers and signals that can help your filtering predicament.

You can maybe try scraping companies that follow Deel or Native Teams. I would define a loose definition of an IT firm and then you could also scrape the websites and check if they have multiple HQs / Offices listed there. Maybe even check if companies are hiring for remote roles, that could be a starting point as well.

Hey tyee, Jesse O., Mihajlo M. Thanks for the suggestions! I tried building small buckets using all 3 methods, and I can see a good improvement in the list quality already. I had another thought while doing this — could we also use LinkedIn keyword searches like “globally hiring,” “work from anywhere,” “remote-first,” etc. to discover companies with those signals? If so, is there any practical way to scrape/enrich the companies from the LinkedIn search results, or is that just another random thought in my head? Curious if anyone has tried something similar.

Super interesting thought pradyunmayap. I'm not really sure though. What about leveraging company keywords & specialties filters? Then layering intent signals on top of that

For the "globally distributed teams" part, Clay has a "Find Employee Headcount by Country" enrichment. I used it recently to identify US companies with employees in LATAM. It returns employee counts by country, so you can use a formula to flag companies present in 2+ countries. You could then layer hiring/job-posting signals on top for the international-hiring angle.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I’m currently only given Apollo for list building and team is still figuring out Clay and the other tools. Is there a way I can tackle these approaches with Apollo for now, or any workaround you’d suggest at this stage?
