how to get rid of the green triangles? imported a csv into another table (find companies via clay). i dont want to have those green triangles because its super eaasy to reset a cell value with that (one just have to click on the button there)
Hi Robin,
What I meant is not to send values into rows that already have dynamic values.
So yes, in your case you’d want to create a new row that doesn’t have a dynamic value (like in your screenshot). If you need to merge values, create a new Merge column (left side > Add Column > Merge) and combine both.
Think of it like this: you’re trying to paint over a painting instead of painting on a blank canvas — that’s why you’re seeing the green triangle check.
To recap:
Don’t write into a column with dynamic values.
Do write into an empty column.
Let me know if you have more questions.
'need to avoid writing directly into columns that already have a value defined at the top' - what do you mean by that? Do you mean rows without any value, so creating new rows at all? Because if I 'write to a new table', the green triangles appear, and if I import a CSV with the same column structure (i.e., I don't create any new columns or rows, I remap eg company name goes to company name; no new rows), then the green triangles also appear. So I don't know what you mean. Do you mean if I create completely new rows? And as I said, the reason I don't want to have those three green triangles is that they are super easy to reset or revert the whole data, and there is no chance or option to actually see the history of a cell like in Google Spreadsheets. I don't want to end up in this situation where I have a value and I click on this "revert back" and the whole data is then lost. In my opinion, it's a very bad UX. What's the reason? You can make an alert or so, but it's just hindering it's not good in my opinion. Make it better or okay, I see it and I neglect it. I don't want to see it anymore, but I have seen it. i did that with 'write to table' as well; those green triangles were still there
