Dealing with High I No Longer Work Here Responses in Cold Outreach

·
·

Hi guys, I’m facing a repeated issue. The most common “no” response we get from our cold outbound is consistently “I no longer work at this company”. No matter whether I use Clay, Apollo, or Linkedin enrichment as my data source, this is without a doubt our most common error. I’m even using additional meta-data fields like “is current” in their most recent job to verify that it’s legit, still - this “I no longer work here” response makes up >50% of my negative responses. The only way I can think to solve for this problem would be to have clay to manually scrape their LinkedIn profile and confirm that this is the most up-to-date position. However, we will need to run this on every row, and it would be extremely expensive. Has anyone else faced this issue, and come up with a better workaround?

    1. 1.

use google search to find the linkedin profiles rather than any direct linkedin scraper; then "enrich" the profile and check current experience

    2. 2.

use "live data technologies" to track arrivals and departures in your ICP

    3. 3.

use linkedin sales nav and scrape out the lists (tricky to find a long term stable solution that won't get squashed here though; I believe Clay is working on a chrome extension?)

THanks Evan D., I like the idea of #1, just the credits will be crazy expensive for that

1 credit for the googl esearch per co, then you could use chatgpt API to figure out which of the linkedin profile results are ICP or not, then only enrich those --- OR buy upcell.io for 1K/year and export linkedin profiles then import to sales nav, enrich via upcell.io to sheets or CRM. The sales nav filters will be very strong for ensuring they're in the role you want. also you could double check by loading the company list to sales nav as an account list and filter the contact list import to only poeple who work at the account list.
