Started Outbound Orchestration this week (pumped!), but curious about Clay's cohort selection process. I'd initially tried to enroll in a different cohort, Clay Wedge, because being in SF, startup/ICP/PMF work is my jam, but Clay's enrollment process kept bumping me into Outbound Orchestration instead. Three questions:
Totally fine/happy to be here, but curious if there is different content in Wedge focused on ICP stuff?
And if so, could I enroll in Wedge later or would Clay keep shuffling me into what their system selects as appropriate for my org size?
Does Clay prefer we minimize the amount of cohorts we apply to?
Great questions — and glad you’re enjoying Outbound Orchestration.
1) Does Wedge focus more on ICP?
Yes. The Wedge cohort is specifically designed around startup GTM and includes modules like:
Finding and validating your ICP
Building TAM lists that match that ICP
Enrichment, qualification, and personalized outreach
Testing and iterating based on market feedback
So it’s more startup‑GTM and ICP‑centric than the outbound execution focus you’re currently in.
2) Could you switch to Wedge later?
Yes. You can submit a cohort switch request using the Cohort Application Update form. This can be done during your current cohort or after it ends (as long as you haven’t graduated). [1]
3) Does Clay prefer you apply to fewer cohorts?
There’s no stated preference for limiting applications. The main guidance is simply to plan your cohort applications ahead of time.
So you’re not locked into Outbound Orchestration — switching to Wedge later is possible if you want to explore that ICP‑focused path.
If you need any additional help understanding the cohort options or switching process, I’m here to help. Would you like to share more about what you’re hoping to learn or accomplish through Wedge?
