Hey everyone, so im setting up a clay-based outbound system and wanted to sanity check the setup before starting.
Current flow:
Table 1: Companies โ ICP filtering + company-level signal research (Claygent) + assigning one primary outreach angle
Table 2: People โ finding contacts + pulling company signals via lookup
Emails are generated in the People table using 1 signal + 1 angle (strict rules to avoid generic output)
Sending via Clay sequences (low volume for now, ~15โ25/day per inbox)
A couple of decisions we made (& some questions here as well) :
Using a separate but similar domain for outreach (it includes a hyphen in the domain name). "Wanted to understand if this could create any domain reputation issues." For example: abc.com โ ab-c.com
Tracking replies manually + planning HubSpot sync in V2
Few more questions:

Would you stick with Clay for sending in the early stage, or move to Smartlead/Instantly from day 1?
- 2.
How are you handling reply tracking + CRM sync cleanly?
Trying to keep it lean but scalable from day 1 - would love to hear how youโd approach this...
