Hi all! π I'm Denise, joining from Jamaica π―π²
I spent 8+ years in accounting and finance ops (A/R, A/P, payroll, month-end close), which means I have strong opinions about data hygiene and a deep suspicion of anything labeled "final_v3_REAL." Now I'm pivoting into GTM engineering, and Clay is where I'm spending most of my time.
I'm 4 days into a 7 day build sprint, documenting everything as I go. So far:
β A 38-company table narrowed to 10 verified contacts (the accountant in me would rather have 10 clean rows than 50
questionable ones)
β AI-written openers that I fact-checked against each company's site, because the facts changed between runs and I'm
apparently the kind of person who reconciles prompts π
β An n8n workflow that checks my GitHub every night and logs my streak, so I can't quietly skip a day
What I'm hoping to learn here:
1. How you order providers in people and email waterfalls, and when a second source is worth the credits
2. Prompts that keep the AI column from drifting into pitching
3. What you wish you'd known in your first month with Clay
Happy to share what I've built if it's useful, and I'd love to hear what I'm doing wrong. πOh, I'm feline lover and love to travel!
