Tips for Finding Local Businesses in Grodzisk Mazowiecki Using Clay

·
·

Hey guys, Maybe some of you Clay power users could help me with my task that I am trying to solve whole day. I am from Poland, important info :) The goal is to find all local business in one small city, like "Grodzisk Mazowiecki". So the goal is I want to have a list with all let's say restaurants and bars in Grodzisk Mazowiecki following this pattern: Name, City, Website, Phone number and e-mail. The problem is that with template based on Google ApI it doesn't work well with predefined business types, so I need to use "Free text" mode. And here is the question, if you know how to best prompt this search query, cause I was trying multiple types:

  1. 1.

    "Restauracja", "Kawiarania"

  2. 2.

    Restauracja, Kawiarnia

  3. 3.

    "Restauracja" OR "Kawiarnia"

Plus I am seeing when I was not adding keyword with location such as "Grodzisk Mazowiecki" I was getting a lot of restaurants from different places around Grodzisk. It would be also nice if I could create just one long list and input for example all type of businesses I need: Warsztaty samochodowe "Instalatorzy pv Lokalne sklepy spożywcze Małe warsztaty stolarskie Małe kawiarnie i restauracje Pralnie Gabinety weterynaryjne Zakłady kosmetyczne i Spa Zakłady fryzjerskie i Barber Shop Biura lokalne (prawnicze, księgowe) Małe drukarnie Serwisy komputerowe Zakłady fotograficzne/studia graficzne", but I tried this method and it's even worse when I try to do more than 2 type of businesses. For now what I found the best method is to scrap for Google Maps with some web scrapper tool, the URL links and names and then import it into Clay and write Claygen AI prompt than would do it. But then it gives the data unstructured, so maybe you know how can I prompt it so it will create 3 additional columns with website, phone number and phone. Photo with current solution Pls help :)

Hey Tomasz, thanks for the inquiry! Happy to help with this. Yes, about the free text queries, I do often include the location + the type of business I'm looking for to ensure it's constrained to that location only and not anything random. For example: restaurants in Grodzisk Mazowiecki Most of these constraints come directly from Google as they have a limit on how many inputs they can take to run a search and how many searches it can run in a given radius. So it would be best and more accurate to run individual searches for better control. Of course, as you stated, maybe having a scraping tool like Apify to scrape it separately, you can have those results auto-import into Clay to continue enriching/cleaning up the data. Hope that helps a bit!
