Has anyone been highly successful scraping websites for specific APIs or SDKs? I want to scrape my entire target account list for a specific API. We currently use several providers such as BuiltWith, but would be interested in adding our own solution thru clay for additional coverage. Thanks!
You can leverage several powerful scraping options in Clay to gather API information from your target accounts: 1. Clay Chrome Extension • Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store • Navigate to your target websites • Use the "Select Data" feature to extract specific attributes • Import the data directly into Clay for enrichment 2. Apify Integration • Use Clay's native connection to Apify for more complex scraping needs • Access specialized scrapers designed for specific sources • Perfect for websites that are typically difficult to scrape 3. HTTP API Feature • Connect to any external tool with API access • Integrate with additional technology detection services • Combine multiple data sources for better coverageYou can enhance your coverage by using Clay's waterfall feature, which allows you to search multiple enrichment tools in sequence and only pay when results are found. Hi Ciaran! First, try out Claygent - it's our AI-powered tool that can scan websites intelligently for API/SDK information. It often picks up things that traditional scrapers might miss. For tech stack identification, check out the "tech stack" waterfall in your enrichment panel (just hit "add enrichment" at the top right). This pulls from multiple providers, which gives you better coverage than relying on a single source like BuiltWith. Happy to help set this up if you already have a table as well.
