Guidance Needed for Outbound Strategy Using Clay and Data Scraping

·
·

Hi There, I'm looking for some guidance on an outbound play I'm currently building in Clay, here's some context:

  • I'm using Claygent to scrape data on prospect's website (travel companies) to determine if their pricing is low/medium/high

  • based on this categorization I want to scrape data on a specific website offering activities within the correct budget, calculate a potential commission my lead could earn & generate an email template I can send

Both of these are built in Clay and being fine tuned for better outcome but I'm wondering how to link both tables and ensure the right categorization happend in the second table that I'll use to generate my email template.

To link your two tables and ensure correct categorization flows through, you can use the "Write to Other Table" integration in Clay. Here's how to set it up: 1. In your first table (with the travel company categorizations): • Add a "Write to Other Table" column • Select your destination table (the one for email templates) • Map the categorization data and any other relevant fields from your first table to the corresponding columns in your second table 2. Configure the integration: • Select your Clay account • Choose your destination table • Map the list properties to your new table columns • (Optional) Set up auto-update to automatically process new rows This will ensure that when a company is categorized in your first table, the corresponding data and categorization will be properly transferred to your email template table.

To link your tables and ensure proper categorization flows through, you can use Clay's "Format Categories Based on Keywords" feature. Here's how: 1. In your first table (with travel company pricing data): • Set up your categories and keywords for low/medium/high pricing • Configure the output schema to include the fields you want to pass to your second table 2. In your second table (for email templates): • Reference the categorized data from your first table • Use the categorization to determine which activity website data to scrape • Calculate commissions based on the pricing category The categorization system will analyze and organize your data based on your predefined keyword criteria, ensuring consistent categorization flows between tables.
