Is there a way to find a signal for international expansion e.g U.S or North American company opening in Europe. I'm thinking GM hire for X country or it could be a press release but perhaps less likely?
You can track international expansion signals in two main ways: 1. Monitor new hires: • Use our new hire monitoring feature by clicking "Actions" and selecting "Monitor for new hires" • Target specific companies and filter by relevant job titles (like "General Manager," "Country Manager," or "Regional Director") • You'll receive updates on people hired at those companies within the last three months 2. Track news and announcements: • Set up Google News alerts with specific search queries like: • "company expands" OR "business relocates" • "international expansion" OR "new market entry" • Use advanced search operators and date filters to refine results • Convert these searches to RSS feeds for automated monitoring These methods will help you identify early signals of companies expanding into new international markets.

Hey there, thanks for reaching out! ☺️Great question. A few ideas:
1. Job Postings & Executive Hires ** LinkedIn Jobs & People Search: Track GM/Country Manager hires by setting alerts for titles like “General Manager [Country]” or “Head of [Region].” ** Google Jobs Alerts: Monitor job postings that mention “expansion,” “new office,” or specific locations and import through RSS ** Work Visa Sponsorship Data: In some countries (like the U.S.), companies must report visa applications, which can indicate hiring trends. 2. Company Disclosures & Business Registrations ** SEC Filings (EDGAR): U.S. public companies often disclose international expansion in 10-Ks or 8-Ks. ** Companies House (UK), Handelsregister (Germany), etc.: New subsidiary registrations can be a strong indicator. ** Trademark Filings (WIPO, USPTO, EUIPO): Companies may file trademarks in a region before entering it. 3. News & Media Monitoring ** Google Alerts & RSS Feeds: Track keywords like “[Company Name] expands to [Country]” or “[Company Name] new office in [City].” ** Crunchbase, PitchBook, CB Insights: Some startups report expansions in their funding news. Will be integrating soon with Crunchbase! ** Press Releases: While rare, some firms announce new market entries officially. Same as above, you could setup an RSS feed through Google News 4. Real Estate & Permits ** Commercial Leasing Sites (LoopNet, JLL, CBRE, etc.): These often list new office leases before companies announce them. ** Government Building Permit Databases: Check for construction permits linked to major firms. 5. Import/Export & Trade Data ** Customs Data (e.g., ImportGenius, Panjiva): Companies often start shipping goods to new markets before officially launching. * Government Trade Registrations: Some countries require foreign businesses to register before operations begin. Let me know if you need help setting up one of the workflows and happy to help! If there's anything else I can assist you with, please let me know! 😊 Have a great Wednesday, Daniel
Daniel K. Legend! These are great, for context I'm mainly pitching companies with enterprise/high value products and services usually tech and software, but also other high value products e.g medical or manufacturing. I'm thinking checking U.S/CA then having EU and UK as the check on the other end (sob sob us UK are no longer part of Europe) If you could help guide me how to set that up that would be great! Also, would it be better to start fairly broad industry wise initially for volume then see what the trends are for expansion?
Hi Mark, thanks for reaching out! I’m taking over for Daniel. Are you starting with a pre-made list of companies, or are you initiating a search from scratch? Also, could you clarify what you mean by "high-value"? I see you're currently focusing on software and medical companies, but are there any other industries or products you’d like to explore? Lastly, are you targeting only EU countries, or are you also considering other parts of geographic Europe, such as Russia? Let me know, and we can get started on this workflow! 😊
