Hey everyone, Instantly shows for many of our mail recipients in Germany that their email provider is "Other" so not GMail or Outlook. Do you have any idea what the main sending providers are in Germany? And is there a sending tool that would allow for domain matching of those providers as well? It seems like Instantly can only match domains for GMail and Outlook
Hey there, I let others chime in here as well. I'm based in Germany but most should be using Gmail/Outlook (2/3) and some other third party providers (remaining 1/3). Something I found in Smartlead's Slack: "Domain matching for email providers works by examining the MX (Mail Exchanger) records of the domain. Here's how it's typically done: 1. The system extracts the domain part of the email address (e.g., smartlead.ai from user@smartlead.ai). 2. It then queries the DNS (Domain Name System) for the MX records of that domain. 3. The MX records indicate which mail servers are responsible for handling email for that domain. 4. Based on the MX records, the system can determine the email service provider (ESP). In Smartlead, this process is implemented in a function called fetchESPTypeFromEmail. This function determines the ESP type based on the domain's MX records. For SMTP servers, there's a similar function called fetchESPType that identifies the ESP based on the SMTP host information." You can also detect the mx records in Clay using the HTTP integration. Then you could match them yourselves. Here a short video going over an example to find Gsuite records: https://www.loom.com/share/0908377cb92347dc99eabee2368334cf If there's anything else I can assist you with, please let me know! 😊 Have a great Wednesday, Daniel
From my experience on local markets I’d suggest that you’d use some local SMTP provider for all the “others”. I have very good results on placement tests/deliverability in general
Hey there - just wanted to check in here to see if you needed anything else! Feel free to reply back here if you do.
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
Thank you! With "local SMTP provider for all the “others”." I guess you mean just one local provider for all accounts but Gmail / Microsoft?
No, I’m not sending anything in that geo. I’d suggest connecting any local SMTP provider. Just do your search in German, that should work.
