Best Practices for Data Enrichment Order Explained

Β·

Is there a best practice when it comes to the order in which data is enriched? Example: I want to find location data (city per contact) - in order to do this most accurately I want to ensure I have enriched all my contacts by their full name, linkedin etc. However, I am now forced with two choices: Enrich the same contact multiple times or build complicated mapping.

For the most accurate location data enrichment, follow a sequential approach: 1. Start with basic identifiers (your "corner pieces") like name and company. 2. Enrich with social information first, particularly LinkedIn profiles, as this establishes a solid foundation for further enrichment. 3. Once you have complete social profiles, proceed with location-specific enrichment. This structured waterfall approach ensures each enrichment builds on verified data, improving accuracy without redundant enrichments. Before beginning, assess your existing data quality to identify what's missing or inconsistent, which will help determine the most efficient enrichment sequence.
