Is it possible to identify and count repetitive job titles within a company using Clay? For example, if a company has multiple employees with the same job title, how can I find out the number of occurrences?
Hey there Eric thanks for reaching out, yes it possible to find the number of employees inside of company with the same job title in Clay. To accomplish this you can use out "Find Employee headcount by Criteria" integration. To use this integration you will need either a company's Domain, LinkedIn Profile URL, or their Sales Navigator URL or ID. You can then enter in the Job Title you wish to find the employee count for in a company, along with any additional key words as well. If you also wish to see any change in size over time you can enter in specific number of months that a person has at least been with a company for to see that change as well, if you were to run multiple columns of this. https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/1170465414/6ad62f43b1c710a50dc20cda/image.png?expires=1725575400&signature=f52d4a647472279705429c4f96de96a2d42060935d3812d08758afbcc4f07aa8&req=dSEgFs14mIVeXfMW1HO4zWeQvtUC1NigP5Eeq2Zl3PpmTUp00l08tvXiaSZ4%0Ad50M%0A
Awesome, thank you LuisArturo
Thanks! We've reopened this thread. You can continue to add more detail directly in this thread.
Looks like the Find Employee headcount by Criteria enrichment finds out the number of roles at the company and the output is only the number of roles (e.g. #205 roles). I would like to find out what job titles are repetitive at a company without entering the specific job titles as search criteria. E.g. Company A has 3 senior tax accountants. Company B has 7 litigation paralegals and 3 insurance attorneys. I tried Claygent but it didn’t work - I guess it couldn’t do because I don’t have the list of all employees with their job titles at a Company.
Hey Eric! Thanks for reaching out. Currently, the "Find Employee headcount by Criteria" is not able to split those results out in one column unfortunately. The way to check for a count of multiple job titles at a company without an overall number being returned, is to split the search into multiple columns with each column representing one job title. You can also use a find people search with job title keywords added, and use Lookup in the people table to get a count of how many records have a specific title. However, with this approach, you'll need to format the job titles to be in the same sentence case (see example formula below). The Lookup column will also be set to search for matching job titles and it'll return a count per record of how many titles were returned. Subsequently, you can create another Lookup column in the main company table to reference those values. Hi Daniela D. - thanks for your response. I really appreciate it. It seems a bit complicated but I’m working on it 😊 Lookup enrichment doesn’t work in my account for some reason, I restarted the app a few times though. I remember it used to be a free feature, has it changed?
Hey Eric! Thanks for the reply. Happy to help. Yeah, the Lookup enrichment is only accessible on a paid plan, because it requires connecting your Clay API key. You'll need to upgrade to the Starter plan to use that feature. I can enable a two-week trial for that feature, but after that, it'll require an upgrade. Let me know if this helps!
Understood. I used to have a paid plan for some time in the past. Now, I’m thinking of building another unique playbook. If you could temporarily enable the lookup feature I would really appreciate it. Just want to make sure if my “new playbook idea” is doable at all.
