Understanding the Find Contacts at Company Module for Better Results

·
·

Does someone really understands the functioning of the “Find Contacts at Company” module? I am basically using it to see if there is any Head Of Sales or same job titles inside each company, it works pretty well but I know that its coverage is not the best. For example, I see manually someone whose Job Title is ‘Head Of Sales’ at a certain company, but the module doesn’t detect it even with the ‘Head Of Sales’ query in the Job Title Keywords parameter. I tried to tweak it but impossible to have a result. Is there a geek like myself that understands the module more than me and that is able to explain how can I have a better coverage? Or is it just part of the game and I can’t do much?

Hey Dino, This is due to the fact that the module rely on a scraped database (as opposed as Live data on LinkedIn). To access more granular data, the best would be to search directly on SalesNavigator, then extract your search to upload it to Clay afterwards. From there you can continue your enrichment and process as usual. Hope it helps 🤙

Oh I understand now, thx for the answer! The best way, as you’ve said, is that I’d have to scrape the same companies as I did for CEOs with Sales Nav searching for Head Of Sales and then mapping it out.

Hi Dino, happy to provide some context here! There’s always a few reasons this might happen, like keywords, profiles that don’t exist anymore, job changes, fake profiles, or more. But sounds like here it could be most likely because we also have limitations for private profiles. Our data providers use a multitude of ways to access people and company data. For the most part, we don’t use your cookie/login data. This means we might miss some information here and there, especially if there are privacy restrictions in place for certain profiles. This means your logged-in profile has access to it, but our data providers may not. Here are some alternatives: 1. Remove Keywords: Try checking if it brings more people with different titles like 'Head Sales' instead 'Head Of Sales' 2. Check on Linkedin/SalesNav: See if you can find why certain people are missing. 3. Use Different Sources: We have more than 50 data providers that can find people. Use the “add enrichment” button at the top right of the page. Claygent usually works well if you want to find a certain profiles. It also has a pre-made prompts already in it’s prompt library Or use “Find Person from Google Search.” While Clay gives you access to a lot of data, we’re not a data provider. Our philosophy is that if the data is online, you can find it and orchestrate it inside of Clay—you just need to get creative. Instead of getting blocked in the nitty-gritty of one missing profile, we prefer doing things at scale without any worries. We’re continuously working on these tools to improve coverage though! 😊 Thanks for reaching out! Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with! 🌟

Dino M. Morgann D. Unfortunately right now the Find People at Company gives you 1/3 or 1/4 of the real results. Here's the full tutorial to go from companies to people: How to Learn Clay.com FAST (And Use it With 0 Credits)
