Hi all, I have a workbook with companies and contacts that I created via import. I've enriched the companies and added a step to find more contacts and then add them as rows to the initial contact sheet. After mapping the imported profiles to the existing columns it wiped all of the imported data.
Is this on purpose (ie a row with a blank imported profile overwrites existing data?
Is there any way to stop this? I don't want it to happen.
Thank you in advance
When importing new data, it's important to note that mapping data to columns that already contain information can overwrite existing data. To prevent this from happening and ensure your formulas auto-populate correctly, you should avoid mapping data to columns that you want to preserve or that are populated by formulas. For example, if you're using the Find People feature and want to update your search criteria, you can use the "Edit Source" button, but be aware that this won't change your already imported results. To maintain your existing data while importing new profiles: 1. Don't map imported data to columns that already contain information you want to keep 2. Let formula-driven columns remain unmapped during import to allow them to auto-update with results Source: Find People [Clay 101] - Clay University

gotcha so I'll have to duplicate columns and then unify.
and then rebuild the enrichments to be based off of the unified data
Got it. Let me know if you have more questions!
After unifying your data, you can set up new enrichments based on the unified columns by following these steps: 1. Click the "Add Enrichment" button in the top-right corner of your table 2. Select your desired enrichment type and configure the settings 3. When configuring the enrichment: • Choose your unified columns as the input source • Select which data fields you want to add as new columns • Optionally set any conditional run criteria to control when the enrichment runsRemember that even if you don't add all data fields as columns immediately, the enriched data will still be available and accessible for later use.
