Understanding the Work Email Waterfall: Explaining Credits and Invalid Emails

When using a Work Email Waterfall, if the 1st email provider finds an email, but then it's found to not be valid...then it will run a search on the other email providers, right? But if each email provider keeps turning up the same invalid email 4-5 times in a row...am I charged 2 credits for each attempt at finding the same invalid email address? I'm trying to figure out how I burned through so many credits in just a few attempts, and without many valid emails to show for it. Thanks for your help in figuring this out!

    Hey Jaemin, thanks for the message and for pointing this out! Yes, unfortunately, since Clay doesn't control the data that comes from these providers if they return something they'll still charge Clay (or even you if using your API) for it, and we have no way to predict if it would be the same value, although we do have preset formulas so at least the validation tool does not run again if it's the same email from the finders.

    Currently, none of them seem to offer the option to add an input and exclude emails from the search and result. That's something we've brought up and may have to find ways or even ask the providers to enable something like this, but we'll try to make it clearer or easier to catch for now.I added a few more credits back in :)
