Issues Configuring Claygent for B2B SaaS Website Identification

·
·

Hey everyone. I'm trying to configure Claygent to identify if a website is a B2B SaaS company or not, and keep running into the following issues:

  • Websites that were marked as "Error (website doesn't load)" actually had websites that loaded just fine

  • This is the biggest error

  • There were a lot of IT companies & some marketing agencies that were marked as "B2B SaaS"

  • Had to spend over an hour deleting them over the weekend

  • Some websites that are actually B2B SaaS were marked as "Not B2B SaaS"

Has anyone found a solution to this?

    Clay table: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/245722/tables/t_CWpFG4rAQVub/views/gv_gS6PPQy2d53D Prompt used:

Visit /Website of this person & identify whether this is a B2B SaaS company or not.

A B2B SaaS company typically offers cloud-based software solutions to other businesses or business professionals and uses a subscription-based model.

Their website or product pages should highlight specific software tools or platforms designed to solve business problems.

The website doesn't have to explicitly mention that they are "cloud-based" or they use a "SaaS or "subscription-based" model. They can mention services, but as long as they mention they have a "product", "platform", "software" or cloud-based solution to solve problems, they're likely to be B2B SaaS.

They should NOT be agencies, consultancies, or businesses that only offer professional services.

*Note: some websites in the list may look like B2B SaaS companies but they are not.

Examples: https://dazzlelabs.co/ is NOT a B2B SaaS company, but a development agency creating SaaS products. https://pantacor.com/ is NOT a B2B SaaS company, but a Linux development agency https://guild.co/ doesn't exist anymore. On the website it says that it was closed on 1 October 2024.

For each website, provide a brief explanation of your classification and why it is (or is not) a B2B SaaS company.

Format the results as: "B2B SaaS" if it is a B2B SaaS, "NOT B2B SaaS" if it isn't a B2B SaaS, and "Error" (+ reason) if the website doesn't exist, doesn't load or simply says that the company doesn't exist anymore.

    Example:
    Error (Website Doesn't Load)
    Error (Company Doesn't Exist)

Hey Daniel! Thanks for reaching out. Sorry about this. It looks like the issue is related to the model selected to run this action (4o-mini). The cell returns results for websites that load when a different model is selected. We've escalated this to the team to investigate and will get back as soon as we know more. Can you share examples of the websites that were wrongly marked as "Not B2B SaaS" or "B2B SaaS" in the table. Happy to troubleshoot this as well.

    Sure. Here they are: https://www.paywant.com/ http://www.heylog.com https://www.mondayhero.io/

    • After I re-run this one it showed as "B2B SaaS", but originally it showed up as "NOT B2B SaaS"

Thanks for sharing! I worked on an updated version of the prompt in a duplicate column and got the model to return "B2B SaaS" for all 3 examples shared. Key changes included an additional parameter providing context on what it should consider to be a B2B SaaS company (see GIF below). Feel free to test it out and let us know if that helps! If you add the updated prompt to your original column, I'd recommend not selecting "all rows that have not run or have errors" as that would trigger the entire column to run again. https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1220445120/dbe5001c28f67da2947adf0d7e0d/CleanShot+2024-10-18+at+10_44_58.gif?expires=1729246500&signature=682c3b3ad248451a5f163f9e2ac60cd08645a55aafb6deac4041b28cc645432d&req=dSIlFs16mIBdWfMW1HO4zeIvwbtko%2BTcsWKex2prxc1TyRqKO1942wKVDy1O%0AR3kP%0A

It didn't work for me. Used your prompt, just switched "Clay-managed OpenAI account" to mine (which shouldn't affect anything) 3/4 companies were marked incorrectly

Hey Daniel, one reason you could be seeing incorrect results was how your Error message handling was formatted at the end of the prompt. The API key used shouldn't impact results. I just updated your prompt in the column "Clay Support - B2B SaaS Classification" and defined the column ouputs it should return. I defined the output fields "Classification" and "Explanation" which I broke out into separate columns. I ran this enrichment column with your API key and it is running successfully! Feel free to check this out and let me know if this solves your issue. I'm also adding 500 credits to your account on us if you'd like to try Claygent Argon for this column! Let me know if this makes sense and if you have any other questions. Cheers!

Thanks Tanvi. I checked out the prompts & it's still not quite what I'm looking for. But it gave me direction on how to go about this. I'll try myself in a different clay table

Hey Daniel! Thanks for the reply. To simplify that process for you, I also recommend checking out the prompt assistant (see screenshot below). This allows you to share information about the end goal/result you need for Claygent to generate a prompt that fulfils that task. Also sharing an additional resource about AI prompting below: - https://www.clay.com/university/lesson/11-ai-prompts-to-automate-prospect-research-with-claygent-automated-outbound Let us know if you run into any issues! https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1223007881/3c558eb35240b2fd071dd943bd12/CleanShot+2024-10-21+at+11_25_19%402x.png?expires=1729508400&signature=adba251dc4127248e2cdc9eb747355ef5ce8a26c6c4902025710d7a3d966b1ed&req=dSIlFcl%2BmolXWPMW1HO4zStule%2FCPSWckb94Q7hqZEILgB4YJkc4Sl4opwk7%0AWgbQ%0A
