is there a good way to upload a list of companies to clay to then find the contacts automatically by giving it titles to look for?
Yes! Here's how to upload companies and automatically find contacts by job titles: Step 1: Upload Your Companies First, import your company list into Clay with company domains or LinkedIn URLs. Step 2: Find People at Companies 1. Click "Actions" → "Find people at these companies" 2. Select your company table under "Companies" 3. Choose company domain or LinkedIn URL as the identifier 4. Use the "job title" function to specify positions you're looking for 5. Set additional search parameters (seniority, location, etc.) Step 3: Preview and Import 1. Click "Preview People" to review results 2. If satisfied, click "Import" → "Save to new table" 3. Set a limit to control the number of contacts returned This creates a targeted prospect list by layering people search on top of your company data without manual work.
ok if we set it once will it auto update if. we add more companyes?
No, it won't auto-update. When you add new companies to your company table, you'll need to rerun the lookup in your people table to pull contacts from the new companies. You can always rerun the column linked to the company table to refresh and include contacts from newly added companies.

Hi matt, thank you for reaching out! If you have a Companies table and you perform a Find People at these companies and add new companies to the companies table then people table will automatically get updated, given that 'Auto-update columns' is turned on in your company table, which by default is turned on. Let me know if I can help you with anything else :) - Smit
thanks another question is there a way to check if someone is active on linkedin. Not just by posting but also by liking posts commenting or even if they have 500+ connections
You can find the number of connections the person has by using our 'Enrich Person' enrichment and it returns a connections field in the response. You can find a person's 10 latest posts and determine if any of them were made recently using 'Get a person's professional posts and shares' enrichment. You can similarly use 'Get a person's professional post comments' and 'Get a person's professional post reactions' to pull in their 10 latest comments and reactions respectively. I hope this helps, let me know if I can help you with anything else :)
