Trouble Editing Text in Column: No Bold or Underline Options

why cant i edit text in a text column? I cant bold or underline. Is there a way around this?

Our current table setup is not exactly like a spreadsheet/excel file, so we don't have those functionalities. I can submit a request for that though, so the team can consider building something that would give you these options.
