Hi guys, I have created a Clay template for my client, however when they add it to their own account and try to add a source it will not let them add the sourced leads to the existing templated table
When adding a source to an existing table, you need the appropriate columns already set up. For example, to add a "Find company" source, you need Company Domains or LinkedIn URLs columns in the table. [1]
Your client should check that their templated table has the required column types for whatever source they're trying to add. If the columns don't match what the source needs, that's likely why it's not working. [2]
Before we dig deeper, try using Sculptor (the AI tool in the top-right corner) - it can help set up the right table structure and sources quickly. Let me know if that helps or if you're still stuck!

the source has the same columns as the template however the template contains a few extar custom ones
The extra custom columns in your template shouldn't prevent adding a source, as long as the required columns match. The source only needs the specific column types it requires (like Company Domains for "Find company" sources). [1]
Try having your client map the source columns to the existing matching columns during import. When they go to Actions → Import and configure the source, they should be able to map the incoming data to the correct columns in the templated table. [2]
If that's not working, have them try Sculptor first - it can help troubleshoot table structure issues quickly. Let me know if Sculptor helps or if they're still getting specific error messages!
