Troubleshooting OpenAI API Rate Limit Issues with Clay Integration

Hey team, I just signed up for the paid version of Clay and was pumped to try it out with the OpenAI API. But after entering my key, I hit this message: "The rate limits associated with your OpenAI API key are too low to run this action with the selected model. See 'Increasing your limits' here." Any advice on how to fix this or bump up the limits? Thanks!

Hi Victor, to resolve the rate limit issue with your OpenAI API key for use with Clay, you'll need to ensure that you have the appropriate tokens per minute (TPM) for the action you're trying to run. For ChatGPT - Generate Text columns, you require 30,000 TPM, and for Claygent, you require 450,000 TPM. If you're using Claygent, you will need a Tier 2 API key from OpenAI, as it supports the required TPM rates. To check your current OpenAI API usage or limits, you can visit the following links: * Usage * Limits If you find that your limits are indeed too low, you will need to increase your usage tier. This can be done by prepaying the minimum amount required for the higher tier. OpenAI's support team is known to grant requests for increased limits promptly if you have prepaid the necessary amount. Thanks so much for your response, Daniel! Just to make sure I understand correctly—if I have $50 in my credit balance and I ask OpenAI customer service to upgrade me to Tier 2, will they be able to do that right away so I can use the API with Claygent? I signed up for Clay specifically to access the OpenAI API, so if I have to wait 7 days, it would make the subscription a bit difficult for me to justify this month. I really appreciate your help with this.

Hi Victor, OpenAI's support team is known to process requests for increased limits promptly, but there is no guarantee that the upgrade will be immediate. I'd suggest processing the request with OpenAI right away, and if it takes longer, we'll apply some bonus credits to your account. In the meantime, I can add 500 credits to your account so you can play around with Clayagent and set up workflows. How does that sound? If it sounds good, please share your workspace and I'll add the credits to your account.
