I wanted to talk to someone at Clay about doing a Data test on a chunk of our data. We are doing match rate tests for potential vendors and wanted to do the same with Clay to check match rates and completeness to see if Clay is a viable option before we decide on upgrading to a paid version. Who can help here? I could also use some help related to Webhooks for instant enriching leads being created in Salesforce or Hubspot. Extra guidance on how I would accomplish specific to SFDC/Hubspot would be helpful.
We can help you set up real-time lead enrichment through webhooks with your CRM system. Here's how it works:For instant lead enrichment:1. Looks like you're still looking for help. We're escalating this over to our support team and someone should be in touch soon. In the meantime, feel free to include any other information that may be helpful in solving your issue!
We need to enrich ALL created records instantly in Salesforce and not just ones coming through forms (inbound). AKA any lead that gets created we want to enrich instantly within a few minutes max.
Hi Joshua. Yes, you can set up ongoing enrichment for CRM data. A guide on the integration as a whole: https://www.clay.com/university/guide/salesforce-integration-overview If you're considering e.g. the Enterprise plans and want some more support on scoping/testing, I'd submit the form at the "Talk to a GTM Engineer" button here: https://www.clay.com/enterprise But high-level: you can import records from either Salesforce listviews or reports. Those will update daily. (We're working on new scheduling features, which will give you more control over the frequency. Stay tuned...) For enrichment at a quicker pace, you'll want to send the data to Clay using e.g. webhooks. https://www.clay.com/university/guide/webhook-integration-guide The exact method you use to send data from Salesforce to Clay is up to you. But having done so, Clay can enhance, and you can pass it back to Salesforce when complete. Here's a good video series on CRM enrichment: https://www.clay.com/university/course/crm-enrichment And if it's helpful, I can also share a one-time extension for your free trial, so you can continue to explore all the features. Just make sure you're currently logged into Clay, and then click this link: https://app.clay.com/extend-my-trial/ That should give give you another 2 weeks to explore. Cheers -Mark
That's correct โ adjust your plan as needed. You start off on a monthly plan at a lower level, for example, and then upgrade later if you see good value. Or simply buy some credits to top off during a high-demand period. (A few related questions collected here: https://docs.clay.com/en/collections/9964411-credits) NB: we don't have prorating in the app right now, but can always help reconcile in good faith. Like if you accidentally paid for Starter, and meant to go for Explorer, or something like that.
Thanks Mark L. - Do you also have documentation on how Clay chooses the data point that is most accurate when enriching data? For example, Clay may have 3 different values for # of employees at a company but only one value will be chosen during enrichment. Does Clay automatically choose this value, and how does it validate which is most accurate?
Also, is there a consolidated list somewhere that I can review to see which datapoints/fields have available for enrichment for both contacts (ie. email, phone, title, etc) and companies (ie. employees, headquarters location, revenue, etc.)? Thank you!
Hey! Let me help clarify how our data enrichment works. For choosing the most accurate data points - each enrichment source works independently. So rather than Clay automatically picking between different values (like those 3 employee counts you mentioned), you'll actually see what each specific enrichment source returns when you: 1. Click on a row 2. Expand the info columns 3. Check what each enrichment returned (or didn't return if no data was found) For available data points - we keep things enrichment-specific rather than having one master list. You can check what's available here: - Company enrichment - People Enrichment
Hey there! For automatic Salesforce enrichment, no need to worry about managing the data source hierarchy yourself - our team will help set that up during the SFDC package implementation if you're moving to enteprise plan! :) But just so you understand how it works under the hood - we use nested values with forward slashes to references columns and we also create a "waterfall" system. Think of it like a backup plan: if the first source doesn't have data, it tries the second one, and so on. We have a quick video showing you how using nested values work: https://www.loom.com/share/32ae94f5fee34a82b9fa739b53741d00
Hey Joshua! Thanks for your interest in Clay for CRM enrichment. Yes, you can definitely set up instant enrichment for all new Salesforce records but we actually have a dedicated package for this: https://www.clay.com/changelog/huge-update-clay-salesforce-on-demand-enrichment-package While it can be set up manually, it's pretty involved. For your data test needs: Would you like to set up a call with our team to go through match rates and completeness testing? We can look at your specific data needs and show you exactly how the enrichment would work in real-time. Let me know
I actually went ahead and let our GTM Engineer Sabrina Glaser know that you'll be booking a meeting with them! Feel free to do so using this link: https://meetings.hubspot.com/sabrina-glaser
Bo (. yes that would be helpful. I am already in contact with Sabrina Glaser on scheduling time. Is she the right person? I guess the one thing I am still unclear about is the prioritization of vendors used by Clay. In the video it looks like you manually choose the order and vendors you want to check for data. In an example where we choose 3 different vendors for Employee Size for example, and all 3 have a value, but different values, is there a way that Clay validates this type of information to choose the one that is most accurate? I guess making sure we are using the data that is most accurate across all vendors when enriching is my biggest concern vs. defaulting to whatever vendor we chose first.
Yes, Sabrina is absolutely the perfect person to talk with! About the vendor prioritization - we actually handle this pretty systematically. The order of vendors in the waterfall isn't random - it's based on extensive testing and validation. We put the most reliable data sources first in line. That said, the best way to really see this in action is to run a real test with your specific data. This lets you: 1. See exactly what each source returns 2. Identify any gaps or discrepancies according to your data 3. Fine-tune the order based on your industry/needs During onboarding (on enterprise), our team can also help spot-check the results and adjust if we see any patterns of inaccuracy
Thanks! Will try to run a test to see it in action.
Hey! Awesome,I'll be right here if you have any questions or need help analyzing the results along the way ๐
Hey there - just wanted to check in here to see if you needed anything else! Feel free to reply back here if you do.
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
