How to Optimize Email Search & Save Credits: Avoid Duplicate Name Checks

Β·
Β·

When looking for personal emails, part of the waterfall is to check people data labs, but even when it doesn't find an email, in some cases it finds things like names (but not emails), it is then charging credits (5) and then checking contact out also, so it ends up costing (23 credits) instead of 18. I've just checked on my table and it's used up 6258 tokens on just finding names but not emails - https://app.clay.com/workspaces/12553/tables/t_EBTp9PzsQNmz/views/gv_UlSMg6Cfn0dK Is there any way to get these tokens back, as they're all having to be checked on contactout too

Hey Alex, checking on this. Some providers still charge Clay even when no data is found because they consider that search a cost too. (asking the team to verify about these providers)In the case of People Data Labs, they work as an enricher and not exclusively an email finder but are added as an option because they may have coverage here too.

Thanks Artuzo, completely understand where you are coming from, but I guess as it’s part of the email waterfall, the benefit comes in not being charged to check. But I get the difficulty of having to pay to check for this one provider. Would be keen to hear if any solution is found

Yep, it's something we've checked with the providers themselves but that's their policy, and can't do much so they help us out. To keep consistency across some of these waterfalls and consistent with providers that do help us out, for those that still charge regardless of results, Clay's eating up the cost when they don't return data. This personal email waterfall was probably missed and the team will update it.
