hey team, we're using the clay + swarm integration and the "find warm intos to person" is returning no relationship found. we spot checked a few and did find relationships, so not sure why the integration isn't spotting them. any ideas?
There could be a few reasons why the "Find warm intros to person" feature isn't spotting relationships: 1. Ensure you've provided the correct inputs: âą Your company domain âą The target person's social URL 2. Check if you're using the Clay-provided key or your own Swarm account. With the Clay key, network mapping is based on the company domain you provide. 3. If you're using your own Swarm account, make sure: âą You have an active company Swarm account membership âą The Swarm Chrome extension is installed on your browser If you've verified these points and still face issues, you may need further assistance. Click on "Talk to a person" to request human support for a more detailed investigation.
any update here?
Hey, the integration relies on people actively connecting their networks to Swarm. If someone hasnât linked their LinkedIn or added connections, Swarm wonât be able to detect any relationshipsâeven if they exist. If youâre trying to surface warm intros across a team, everyone involved will need to connect their LinkedIn to Swarm. Itâs a bit of a limitation, but without those connections, the data just isnât accessible. Let me know if you want help setting that up.
I think I need help setting this up. The only "connection" options are to input my company domain (nothing about connecting my LinkedIn account).
FWIW, it's also worked with other contact records. Just these few that we audited that didn't return results.
To connect LinkedIn to Swarm: 1. Get access to your companyâs Swarm account. 2. Install the Swarm Chrome extension in your browser. 3. Give it up to 48 hours for your LinkedIn connections to sync. Keep in mind, Swarm only surfaces connections of other persons that connected (or) based on shared work history, education, or mutual investorsâit doesnât pull all your 1st-degree LinkedIn connections by default unless you connect to them, due to privacy limits.
Do we have to have a Swarm account? We're leveraging Clay's with the integration.
This documentation shows that we can leverage Clay's managed Swarm account - https://www.clay.com/claybooks/get-warm-intros-to-target-contacts-and-companies-using-the-swarm
Hey, you donât need your own Swarm account since youâre using Clayâs managed integration â but adding your own LinkedIn connections can definitely help improve results. Hereâs how to do that using the Swarm Chrome extension: How to import LinkedIn connections Let me know if you need help setting it up.
wondering if there is an update here. In my research watching these videos from Swarm, they are not actually mapping LinkedIn "connections". They are mapping employees work and school history and matching where there is overlap. See 1:20 in this video by Swarm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYMzqqkWfwc. This is extremely vague in all Clay videos and documentation. I would imagine 100% of your customers are assuming this is mapping Linkedin Connections by default but it is NOT doing that. Now, I haven't tried in my testing what Bo (. is saying above and it would seem our entire organization would need to do this to really get good introductions if that is the case. Bo, can you confirm? I have mapped my personal connections but I am working on a list that are people that wouldn't be connected to me personally due to my role.
Hey The Swarm doesnât map direct LinkedIn âconnectionsâ like 1st, 2nd, or 3rd degree contacts. Instead, it builds connection paths using overlapping work experience, education, and investor networks â just like you saw in the video. This is how it surfaces potential warm intros. Buttt - To map actual LinkedIn connections, each team member need to connect their own LinkedIn via The Swarm Chrome extension. Without that, itâll only pull inferred connections based on shared history, not direct links. Let me know if you want help setting that up across your team.
yes please let me know how to do that as we try and build our poc
Sure â hereâs everything you need to set that up: ** Install the Chrome extension: The Swarm Chrome Extension ** Follow this guide to integrate it with Clay: The Swarm Integration Guide These will walk you through. Let me know if you have questions along the way.
