my table was turned off but for some reason, a "find people' enrichment still ran and found hundreds of contacts the contact table (table 2) has column info from the company table (table 1) but because table 2 ran without table 1, a lot of the column data is missing. i'm trying to re-run table 2's "company table data" but it only works when i'm doing it one by one. why is that
When your people table runs without the company table, the lookup columns can't pull company data because the source data isn't available. To fix missing company data in bulk, you need to rerun the lookup column that connects to your company table. If it's only working one-by-one, try clicking the column header of the company data column, hover over "Run column," and select "Force" to jump start the entire column run. You can also force run the whole column to see new values from your company table. This should populate all missing company data at once rather than row by row.
when i try to force re-run the column it says it will use 5k credits
The 5k credit cost appears because force re-running will process all rows in the column, even if they already have data. To avoid this cost, use a Lookup column instead of re-enriching. Since you already have the company data in table 1, create a lookup column in table 2 that pulls existing company data rather than re-enriching it. This saves credits by avoiding duplicate enrichments. Lookup columns pull data from existing tables without using credits, which is exactly what you need for your company table data.
Hey — sorry about this. Can you send over the table URL so we can take a closer look? Also, if you happen to know how many credits were used, that would help us investigate faster.

i'm also seeing on my openAI account that it ran 4500 requests today
Got it. If data from the company table is missing in table 2, you can use a Clay Lookup to pull it back in. Since it’s coming from a Find People search, the lookup is already there — as shown in the screenshot. You’ll just need to re-run the lookup to fetch the data again for any rows where it’s missing. I tested this on the first few rows as a reference, and it seems to be working. You can do the same to repull the rest. Also, I added 1,000 credits to your workspace so you can continue troubleshooting and see what went wrong. Let me know if you need help setting up the lookup or re-running specific rows.

re-running the lookup works, but it seems like i have to do it manually one at a time. if i try to force run the rows, it says it will charge me 3.6k credits to do it
the simplest way, the one i'd prefer, is to just receive a large amoutn of credits. i'll delete all 1200 contacts, properly run the company enrichments again first, followed by finding the contacts again, which should populate the company data lookup properly
Yeah, that makes sense. I already added 1,000 credits previously so so you can start rerunning things but this isn't something we can do more Just a heads-up — this behavior is expected. When data changes, Clay will re-trigger dependent columns, which can cause more runs. If you want to avoid that, you can turn off auto-update in the column settings. That way, nothing will re-run until you’re ready, and you can control when things update. http://www.clay.com/university/lesson/clay-credit-conservation Let me know if you want help resetting the flow or need more credits after that.
but i had "auto-update columns is disabled fo this table" on. why would the column still run?
Hey Aaron! The 'auto-update' in the bottom right generally refers to new data entering the table and triggering rows. That being said, you can double-down on this within the column settings itself in the Run Settings to ensure that even if data changes, nothing automatically runs. Hope this helps!
