Issues with Airtable Data Updates in Clay Integration

Hey Clay crew :wave: I’m having an issue with the “Enrich your data from Airtable” source that I can’t figure out. When I update records in my Airtable base, the changes aren’t reflected in Clay after re-running the source. When I update a value in Airtable (e.g., changing a text property from “Foo” to “Bar”), then re-run the Airtable source in Clay, the Clay table still shows the old value. I’ve tried both scheduled and manual re-runs of the source. I’m considering a workaround using webhooks to send Airtable updates to a new table and using “find row in another table” to merge them, but it’s quite clunky. Really hoping to avoid that route! Is this the expected behavior of the Airtable integration? Or am I missing something in the setup? The documentation doesn’t seem to address whether re-running should update existing records. Thanks for any help or insights!

The Airtable integration in Clay allows you to pull records from Airtable bases into Clay tables. Oh wow-just realized that scheduled runs are a pretty new feature! I’m hoping this is just a bug that hasn’t been worked out yet because the feature announcement video makes it seem like this should work.

Hey there Mark, just to clarify this is the expected action within Clay when it comes to creating a table from Airtable or any other database such as HubSpot or Salesforce. If you want to see any of the updated values from Airtable inside of your Clay table you will have to use the Airtable lookup integration to do so. This same logic would follow for the HubSpot and Salesforce databases as well.

Is it possible to run the lookup integration on a schedule so that I can keep the Clay table in sync with the changes in the Airtable base?
Does the Airtable source remove deleted records the Clay table when it runs?

Hi, unfortunately we cannot run this on a schedule yet. Only sources (find people, find jobs etc.) can be run on a schedule. Our engineering team is actively working to integrate these scheduled runs for other enrichments as well. Unfortunately, the Airtable source cannot auto-remove the deleted records, but we hope to unroll an auto-delete feature soon in our software.

Thanks for the info Stefano! Just to clarify, are you saying that this configuration wouldn’t automatically re-run the update record column at regular intervals? Can you suggest a workflow for updating or syncing records from an external data source that users are using today?
