Is there a way to identify "industry" for a company without using Clay credits? Right now the only solution I see is using Claygent or by enriching the company (which also uses clay credits or API key)? I have company name and company domain to use as inputs.
Nope. No other way Joseph Leonard Using the OpenAi API key would make it super cheap though. You could try that.
I have a Gemini API key, but it doesn't let me use it to scrape website contents. Unless I'm missing something. And there's no option to add the API keys for some reason using this enrichment.
Also.. Gemini doesn't appear in the list of models when selecting web research.
I believe Gemini isn't supported yet for web research.
Hi Doug, thanks for reaching out. Taking a look at this now.
Running a default company search in Table Sources should add a primary industry data point to your list of companies. https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1235439760/63ebaa882b128a1957d78536d5bc/CleanShot+2024-10-31+at+11_46_25%402x.png?expires=1730391300&signature=2f6542259c3cc3c963b397aef53f670a02c6ef97401bbdef69b5e2ac09ebc301&req=dSIkE819lIZZWfMW1HO4zU18AsY8PXV08ANbYFIZObULrlNbM44iXAQC9MdL%0AyCed%0A This is fully free!
Hmm. When I click compare models it shows up. What is I just used a Gemini enrichment and through the website address in as a prompt?
To categorize industries for existing companies where you have the company name and domain, a cost-effective option is to use the Serper.dev API to perform a Google search, then apply formulas to filter and analyze the results.
That could work. I also like the idea of doing it using the find companies to avoid having to use another service. I'm just not sure how accurate it will be and I see your screenshot has a blank result as well. I'll have to run some tests.
Appreciate all the sugestions!
Is it true that Gemini models don't yet support web scraping? Bruno (Clay)
Happy to help here let me know if we can support you with anything else!
Is it true that Gemini models don't yet support web scraping?
All foundational models we integrate with, when not run through Claygent, do not function as web scraping agents and therefore won’t retrieve live data.
Hello Doug! Not sure if Gemini in particular doesn't support web scraping. On our end, it is not available to use with Claygent yet: https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1235554014/95527ca6bb2ba325541d1db3de5b/CleanShot+2024-10-31+at+10_10_50%402x.png?expires=1730396700&signature=c56cb2824e77d5fd46d0693aaf76353e8f985b17060fe8d4267faea1704661d7&req=dSIkE8x7mYFeXfMW1HO4zR%2B%2B12qyS2DLwedUBOlxWmVffcAGtnCfcq1srQfL%0AeVKx%0A I just tried a simple scraping task on some Gemini enrichments and I think it is possible they now support web scraping: https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/w28k1kwz/1235558943/27487fa46b7761f106003c4698d6/CleanShot+2024-10-31+at+10_14_28%402x.png?expires=1730396700&signature=f6cd785e9d79016867437288a8e62110aea6831d3cef0695cf994f66e10e5081&req=dSIkE8x7lYhbWvMW1HO4zYjIClOnB%2FSQePxEQM62N5WWFZKyJM%2FocN6ij1K1%0ACKjP%0A I recommend trying to prompt a few cells to scrape the websites in question and test out the results.
