Troubleshooting Clay Table Updates: Source Editing Issues Explained

Can someone help explain why when I edit the sources in a Clay table that I already ran, the table does not update? For example, I just ran a table to "Find companies" for private schools in a specific area. After I ran it, I realized that I want to exclude companies from a different table. When I click the "Imported Companies" > Sources > Edit Source and then select the table that I want to exclude, it indicates that the total number of companies should decrease from 4,927 down to 3,211 results. When I click "Update table" it loads as if it is going to update and then brings me back to the original table with 4,927 results. I've attached screenshots.
