a tad confused about the BetterContact mobile phone enrichment. Why are we charged 30 credits if they find a phone number from a source like PeopleDataLabs or another Clay mobile provider partner that costs less than 30 credits? I understand paying 30 credits for the "Secret phone provider" but if its a redundant phone provider that's already in Clay then there should be a kickback of the difference in credits.
We don't actually charge 30 credits for BetterContact mobile phone enrichment. The credit cost for actions in Clay varies depending on the provider and the specific data point being enriched. Most actions cost 1-2 credits, but some data points, like mobile numbers, can be more expensive due to their difficulty to obtain. For mobile phone numbers specifically, the cost can range from 2 credits up to 25 credits, depending on the provider used. You can view the exact credit cost for each action directly in the enrichment search panel. To better understand the specific pricing for BetterContact mobile phone enrichment, could you please provide more details about where you saw the 30 credit charge? This will help us investigate and provide more accurate information about the pricing for this specific action. this AI response is not accurate, the cell says that BetterContact charges 30 credits
The information I've found doesn't specifically mention BetterContact or their pricing for mobile phone enrichment. However, I can provide some context about how credit costs work in Clay for different providers.Credit costs in Clay vary depending on the provider and the specific data point being enriched. Mobile phone numbers are generally more expensive and harder to find compared to other data points. The cost for finding a mobile number can range from 2 credits up to 25 credits, depending on the provider used. It's important to note that the credit cost reflects the price Clay pays to access the data from each provider. Some providers charge more for certain data points, which is then reflected in the credit cost for users. To better understand why BetterContact specifically charges 30 credits for mobile phone enrichment, could you provide more information about where you saw this pricing or if you've received any communication from Clay about BetterContact's rates? Hey John M., Roman here, co-founder of BetterContact - all of these providers you see in Clay’s waterfall are independently charging from each other BetterContact is a waterfall enrichment tool that has tools (such as PDL) which Clay waterfall also has - we have additional ones on top, and also verify the mobile phone numbers through various layers
I get your point though, but as providers as PDL charge us for a mobile phone and Clay independently, it’s not possible to implement such a functionality
Are you using any providers before requesting BetterContact?
Hey John, thanks for reaching out and appreciate you jumping in here Roman. John, do you mind sending the link to the table url where you are experiencing this issue? https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/1171717996/ac7729f84b426e1d0358af02/image.png?expires=1736784000&signature=465a33eaf004a3b0e4503b6506956c6a43bab1025a4247cdc20d68cdeac5972b&req=dSEgF85%2FmohWX%2FMW1HO4zYTywS37DpMW2BKsam%2FhVPtsrg%3D%3D%0A
Thank you for sharing, John! Yup, as Roman mentioned, it's a bit of a constraint due to how the data providers work. Of course, you can customize your waterfalls to follow Roman's suggestion to first try with your preferred providers and fallback on BC for more options they work with if all else fails :D
