I hit open AI's threshold for credit spending and Clay returned an error (no problem). I increased the spending and moved the threshold in Open AI (no problem). Clay doesn't recognize the fact that the threshold has been increased and it still won't generate the content.
The issue you're experiencing might be related to Clay's credit budget setting, not OpenAI's threshold. In Clay, there's a "Clay Credit Budget" option for AI columns. You'll need to increase this budget to allow for larger token usage. To resolve this: 1. Edit your AI column 2. Update the "Clay Credit Budget" to a higher number 3. This allows more credits for processing complex prompts If the problem persists, ensure your OpenAI plan meets Clay's requirements: ** 30,000 TPM for ChatGPT columns ** 450,000 TPM for Claygent You can check your OpenAI usage and limits at platform.openai.com. What does clay credit budget have to do with my Open AI API?
The Clay Credit Budget is separate from your OpenAI API. It's a feature in Clay that allows you to control the maximum number of credits used per row when running AI columns. This applies to certain AI models in the "Use AI - Content Creation" category that use Clay's shared key, not your personal OpenAI API. If you're using your own OpenAI API key with Clay, you won't be charged Clay credits for those AI actions. The Clay Credit Budget is specifically for managing credit usage within Clay's system when using their shared AI resources.

the clay credit budget is separate from what I need. I use open AI API and I don't use clay's credits for generating prompts
If you're using your own OpenAI API key with Clay, the issue might not be related to Clay's recognition of your OpenAI threshold. Instead, it could be due to your OpenAI plan not meeting Clay's requirements. To use OpenAI reliably in Clay, you need: ** 30,000 TPM (tokens per minute) for ChatGPT columns ** 450,000 TPM for Claygent Check your OpenAI usage tier at https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/limits. If you're on a free plan or tier 1, it won't support these requirements. To resolve this, upgrade your OpenAI API key usage to tier 2. You can find instructions on how to do this at https://community.openai.com/t/how-to-move-up-in-usage-tiers/677788. If you need further assistance, please request to talk to a person in this chat.
I'm on Tier 3 on Open AI. Why isn't it working then?
hey stefan might be worth it to check the usage limit and credits both in the openai api platform once the usage quota had exceeded for me but the credits were there so i was still getting this error - thought i'd share
Stefan - Do you mind sending the link (url) to the table so we can take a look?
