Hey guys, I saw the new "enrich private profiles" I did a test https://app.clay.com/workspaces/16502/tables/t_zo0DMceqUxtY/views/gv_jESHwieIFbvw I can see the 'Enrich profile' via a linkedin profile url works. However the find people at company via linkedin and the find people search, both dont return the profile. Can someone explain why we can enrich private profiles, but we cant find private profiels
Hey hey! Can you drop the URL for your table here? (if applicable) 🫶 Don't worry, only admins will be able to open your table 😉
The main question I have is:
How do you find someones linkedin profile url, if the find people doesn't find it?
Hi Jamie, thanks for getting in touch! I can see thar is not finding anybody for the role of commercial director
This could be because all the profiles for commercial directors are private
This is likely because our LinkedIn integrations don't use your active session or cookies to find data on LinkedIn.The tradeoff is that it could miss some information here and there, especially if there are privacy restrictions in their profiles, meaning that you need to be logged into an account to see all the data, that could be a limitation set by LinkedIn or the person themselves. We're continuously working on these tools to improve coverage though!
We want to have a 100% hit rate to match linkedin if possible
I would do this, but 100% hit with Clay won't be achievable as some profiles remain private, you can use other tools like Phantombuster but this software will use your session, so your account can be banned.
gotcha, thank you
I have not fully tested it yet, but I have a hunch that if you use Sales Navigator you can get a complete list of profiles and that Enriching on a Sales Nav URL works even if is private
Yep, I think the data provider for the Sales Nav tool we have is one of the few that can detect/enrich these profiles. Unfortunately, not all the aggregators we have can provide us that 100% coverage but we're looking into different options with every update LI pushes to make data finders work a bit harder. For some of the tools/actions we have, they can enrich/scrape private profiles, but for querying/finding people, as you pointed out Jamie M., those providers only return public info. So there are a lot of tradeoffs unless you use your account directly.
Of course, we do make sure to keep up to date with providers and report any outdated records or malfunctions in their process.
