Hi support! The client decided to move us from our workspace and have us work in their Clay workspace. What’s the best practice for data migration:
Is it possible to export client data from our current Clay instance and import it into a new one?
What is the recommended procedure for this?
Are there automated tools available for this process, or would we need to perform the migration manually?
Thanks!
Yes, you can migrate data between Clay workspaces using our export/import functionality. Export Process: 1. Navigate to the 'Actions' menu 2. Look for the 'Export' modal 3. Click 'Download CSV' button Import Process: Import the CSV into the new workspace - we support CSV imports for various data sources. Best Practices: ** Create a dedicated "CSV Export View" before exporting ** Hide unnecessary columns to streamline your dataset ** Note that object fields and integration fields may appear differently in CSV format *Alternative Method: For table-to-table transfers within Clay, you can use our "write to table" feature, though this works within the same workspace environment. The migration is manual but straightforward - there aren't automated cross-workspace migration tools currently available.
Hi Alex - thanks so much for reaching out. Unfortunately, there's no way within Clay to transfer full tables between workspaces. You would have to manually export / import as CSVs.
I see. Thanks! 🙂
Sure - let us know if you have any other questions
