Is there a way to, in Apollo (to avoid working in multiple systems) enrich phones prioritizing the use of Clay data before using Apollo or another waterfall ?
Clay's waterfall enrichment allows you to prioritize data providers in a specific order for phone number enrichment. You can configure your waterfall sequence by reordering providers to prioritize Clay's data sources before Apollo or other providers. The waterfall automatically queries providers sequentially—starting with your preferred order—until it finds valid phone data, then stops to save credits. This lets you use Clay data first, then fall back to Apollo only when needed. To set this up, click "Add enrichment," search for "Phone number" under Waterfalls, then reorder the providers to put Clay sources at the top of your sequence.
I want to do this IN APOLLO, though, not have to jump to different tools to get #s
Clay's enrichment capabilities are designed to work within Clay's platform using waterfalls to prioritize data sources. Our waterfall enrichment allows you to sequence multiple data providers, including phone number enrichment, to get comprehensive contact data. However, the enrichment process happens within Clay's interface rather than directly inside Apollo's platform. Are you looking to enrich data that you'll then export to Apollo, or do you need the enrichment to happen natively within Apollo's interface?
Hi Zachary – thanks so much for reaching out! From what I understand, you're hoping to prioritize Clay's data within Apollo, but currently, there's no direct integration that allows Apollo to pull in and prioritize Clay-sourced data.
A workaround could be to push data from Clay into Apollo via HTTP API. Clay has some pre-built HTTP API templates to send enriched contacts into Apollo sequences.
To see if any of the uses cases could match what you're hoping to do: ** In Clay, go to *“Add Enrichment” → search “Apollo” and you'll see various templates pop up
Important to know: ** Apollo limits you to ~400–600 API calls/hour ** You’ll need to configure contact + sequence IDs * Not as smooth as Clay’s native sequencer integrations (like Outreach or Instantly), but it works Let me know if that makes sense!
