How to Prevent Clay from Re-extracting Contacted Companies

Hi Support, I have a list of companies in csv format. I have already contacted these companies and don't want Clay to extract the same companies when I look for "Find Companies." How do I ensure that Clay doesn't extract these companies again?

Hey Gitartha! Thanks for reaching out. I responded in the other thread. There currently isn't a way to exclude those records from the initial company search. This is because the exclusion feature only applies to other find company sources, i.e. a table that has results from a "find companies" search. Here's a workaround: 1. Import your csv list into a new table. https://www.loom.com/share/77bea7d9e0944a8f9e19f8ffcac25500 2. Once imported, proceed to create your find companies search and import the results into a table. 3. In the "find companies" table created, add the Lookup (single row) integration. This is used to check for matching records in a different table using a unique identifier like a domain, company Linkedin url, company name. When the Lookup integration runs it'll return a match for any records that exist in the other table. You can use the results to set conditional formulas for any enrichments that need to run to prevent those duplicate records from getting enriched. You can also filter the table and delete those records from your table. Here's a quick guide for using Lookup: https://www.loom.com/share/ad767e3be9914d19a2f6647efe4dfa85?sid=c8b78c32-9bc1-4501-8124-d6c70d2218cf Also sharing an additional resource for creating conditional formulas: https://www.clay.com/learn/how-to-use-ai-formulas Quick tip for using Lookup: Ensure the search inputs are in the same format and structure. Ex: clay.com in the other table should also be clay.com in the find companies table, not www.clay.com. This will help with identifying exact matches. You can use the normalize url feature to format domains. I made an additional video here to provide more context: https://share.cleanshot.com/RTfTjTW9 Let me know if this helps.
