Hey, I'm trying to use the "Categorize Items Based on Keywords" enrichment, but I keep receiving an error.
The first image is the error
The second image shows how I'm inputting the data into the field.
The third image is a new column I created to test whether the column format needs to be an array.
Can anyone help me figure out what's causing this issue?
Based on your query and the input requirements, the "Items to categorize" field must be formatted as an array. Make sure your input column contains data in an array format. For the "Categories & Keywords" field, ensure you're entering:1. A category name 2. A comma-separated list of keywords for that categoryIf you're still experiencing issues, double-check that:** Your input data is properly formatted as an array ** Your category names and keywords are correctly separated * There are no extra spaces or special characters in your input Source: Categorize Items Based On Keywords with Clay
Could you please describe the specific error message you're receiving when trying to use the "Categorize Items Based on Keywords" enrichment?
I can't run the column because it says that the data must be an array. But I don't understand which data exactly
The "Items to categorize" field must be in an array format. This is the input field where you'll enter the items you want to categorize. For example, if you're trying to categorize text items, they need to be structured as an array rather than plain text or other formats. I did it on that way. Is the Third image i've attached
Let me help you troubleshoot this. The "Items to categorize" field requires a specific array format to work properly. Since you mentioned you've attached an image (which I can't see), I'll explain what's needed:1. Your input data must be structured as an array of items 2. Each item in the array should be properly formatted with the data you want to categorizeFor example, if you're categorizing text items, they should be in an array format like this:["item1", "item2", "item3"]If you're still getting the error, double-check that:** Your input column contains valid array data ** There are no formatting issues like missing brackets or quotes * The data structure matches the required format for the enrichmentWould you be able to share how your data is currently formatted so I can help you identify the specific issue? Hey Nicolas! Thanks for reaching out. Happy to help. Could you share your table URL? It seems the error is related to the field being mapped. The error message indicates that the data needs to be an array or list of objects, not a single object mapped in a column. Currently, it looks like you’re using a merged column of industry values, which doesn’t qualify as an array of objects. A workaround for this is to use a formula to categorize keywords. For example: If keywords contain "A", "B", or "C", input "First". If keywords contain "D", "E", or "F", input "Second". Here’s a quick guide on setting up AI formulas: Clay University – AI Formulas.
Hello Daniela D., thanks for your response! Here is the link to the table: https://app.clay.com/workspaces/271887/workbooks/wb_GtW9xdVDav27/tables/t_mfstiNTbpJUT/views/gv_t9AHJM5mRqR3 I tried using a formula, but the issue is that there are over 150 different industries, making the prompt too complex to handle with a formula. Also, when I applied the formula, the results didn’t meet my expectations
Hey there Nicolas thanks for reaching out, jumping in for Daniela here, question for the industries that you are entering are you entering this list from the Merged industries column or is this a list that you generated on your own?
Hey Luis! From Merged Industries. Merged Industries came from Enrichments, but as the enrichments are not fully completed I have to supplement it with extra data.
Hey, thanks for reaching out, Nicolas - It would make more sense here to use the AI to sort this and simply say your categories and let it select. It should do quite a good job. You can see the sample, I've run 10 for you to see. You can also switch between models to see which one you prefer. Running a formula is also entirely possible but it'll take a moment for you to get the formula to be produced since it's a quite resource-intensive data.
Hey there - just wanted to check in here to see if you needed anything else! Feel free to reply back here if you do.
We haven't heard back from you in a bit, so we're going to go ahead and close things out here - feel free to let us know if you still need something!
