Clay Export Issue: Special Characters Corrupted in CSV Files

·
·

I'm seeing that clay doesn't handle special characters as text well when exporting. It looks correct in the table but when exported to csv, it's replaced by other weird symbols. Is there a solution for this?

Hi there! This issue happens because of Excel settings. Clay exports in UTF-8 format, so please check that your Excel or Sheets is set up to read UTF-8 properly. 1. Open Excel. 2. Go to the “Data” Tab: • Select “Get External Data” > “From Text/CSV” (may vary by Excel version). 3. Import the CSV File: • Choose your file, then select “Import.” 4. Set File Origin to UTF-8: • In the “Text Import Wizard” or Import settings, set “File Origin” to “65001: Unicode (UTF-8)”. • This tells Excel to interpret special characters correctly. After completing these steps, your special characters should appear as expected. Let us know if there’s anything else you’d like help with!
