Hi Is it possible to have a formula like in google sheets where I can have cell B2=C1 somehow in a clay table?
Yes, you can create formulas in Clay tables! Here's how to reference another column's value:1. Add a new column and select "Formula" 2. Use the AI Formula Generator box to describe what you want to do 3. Use "/" to reference the source column you want to pull data from 4. Click "Generate Formula" to create the formula 5. Review the sample output and click "Save Formula" when ready Source: Formulas
tried this and it didn't work as expected

Hi Aamir! Thank you for reaching out! Yes, it’s possible to use formulas in Clay. You can create a formula column in your Clay table, which allows you to either write your own custom formula or use AI to generate one for you. To get started: 1. At the top of your Clay table, click “+ Add column” and select “Formula.” 2. In the formula modal, you can either: • Describe what you’d like the formula to do, and Clay’s AI will generate it for you, or • Write your own formula directly. For example, if you want to combine the value of one column with another or perform operations across columns, the formula column is the way to go. Here’s a detailed guide to help you: AI Formulas + Conditional Runs in Clay. If you have a specific use case or need help setting up your formula, feel free to share more details—I’d be happy to walk you through it!
Aamir - Do you mind sending the link to the table so we can take a look? https://downloads.intercomcdn.com/i/o/1171717996/ac7729f84b426e1d0358af02/image.png?expires=1734642000&signature=5df30e2c4e0958c6dbe11caaac06decb87e81683b700f0b547f28d70e546ed8f&req=dSEgF85%2FmohWX%2FMW1HO4zYTywS%2F6ApUW2BKsam%2FhVPun0w%3D%3D%0A
Great - Now what wasn't working as expected? I don't see any formula column within the table :)
I tried doing it at first with a formula. Deleted it as it didnt work as expected Feel free to add one that you think would work
Okay, what were you trying to do exactly? Can you let me know exactly? I will be doing it for you, no worries :)
I want the second cell of column "Pagination token used" to fetch the values from first cell of "Nimo's Tokens" column In a way cell B2=C1 (in excel)
Here's how you can do this :) https://cln.sh/37rTxX6l
This is not what I was trying to do. I want the first row value of "Nimos Tokens" column to start in the second row of Pagination token used column If it were in excel it would be cell B2=C1
I see now! Unfortunately, rows in Clay don't know about each other - each row runs independently. So trying to reference values from different rows (like having B2=C1 in Excel) isn't possible right now. Let me know if you need help finding another way to achieve what you're looking for!
If there is another way of doing this that would help or if you can look at the scraper I am running, every subsequent run requires the token from the previous run and the start number to get the next set of results. If there is some way, you think this can be automated using a formula or anything please let me know
Set up Table 1 to write that token data directly to Table 2 using the Write to Table enrichment. You'll keep everything flowing smoothly by: 1. Having Table 1 capture your initial data 2. Using Write to Table to send the token over to Table 2 3. Running your searches from Table 2 to keep your workflow organized You can even move these tables into a workbook to make them easier to manage - just click the table name and pick "move to workbook". If you want to bring it to table 1 again you can use ourlookup Need help setting up that Write to Table connection?
