Clarifying Bio Filtering: Do Keywords Need to Be in Headline and About?

·
·

Hello, when filtering people in the Bio section do the keywords have to be in the headline and the about section? So for example if Carbon is in headline and about will it only give me results where the person has carbon in both sections?

Hi J! 😊 When filtering people using the same keywords in both the Headline and About sections, the keywords must appear in both sections. So, in your example, if you’re searching for “Carbon,” the results will only show profiles where “Carbon” is in both the Headline and About sections, not just one. TL;DR: Each field (Headline and About) acts as AND, but inside each field, the keywords work as OR. Let me know if you need any further clarification!

Any way I can search for people with the word Carbon in the Headline OR the About section? Realistically, some people will have keywords in the headline and others will have keywords in the About section. Seems like limited profiles where the keyword is in both the headline and the about section is counterproductive.

Hey Julie, thanks for reaching out! Currently, the search function is limited to using AND between the Headline and About sections. However, here’s a quick workaround that might help: 1. Search for people with the given keyword in their headline. 2. Import these results into a new table. 3. Click Import, then search for Find People. 4. Change the keyword from the Headline section to the About section. 5. Search and import these new results and auto-dedupe by their LinkedIn URL so there are no duplicates This approach should achieve the same outcome as using an OR search function. I’d recommend using this workaround for now. We truly appreciate your feedback, and this suggestion has been shared with our team for potential future improvements. Let me know if you have any questions or need further assistance! :)
