Clarifying Why Leads Are Being Tagged as Bounced Despite Valid Emails

Hello, It’s our first time encountering having leads not get uploaded and tagged as “bounced” (as seen in the screenshot attached). Hope to get clarity on why these leads are being tagged as bounced despite having valid emails

    This might be happening due to how our email validation system works. By default, we use ZeroBounce for email validation in our waterfall process. There are two important points to consider: 1. The system performs thorough validation checks to ensure email quality and reduce bounce rates. 2. If you have the "Safe to Send" option enabled, emails that are classified as "catch-all" will be marked as invalid, even though they might be real emails. By default, catch-all emails are considered valid, but enabling this option takes a more conservative approach for better deliverability. To resolve this, you can check if the "Safe to Send" toggle is enabled in your email validation settings. If it is, you might want to disable it if you're confident about the validity of these catch-all emails.

    When an email is marked as bounced despite being tagged as valid (not catch-all), this typically happens because the waterfall process continues running even after finding an email. This occurs when an email is found by a data provider but fails subsequent validation checks. Email validation is a complex process that goes beyond just checking if an email format is valid - it involves authenticating email addresses to ensure they are authentic and can actually receive messages. To better understand what's happening with specific emails, you can unhide the validation columns in your table to see how the validator is processing these emails.
