Extracting Duration of Current Jobs from LinkedIn Profiles in Google Sheets | Clay

·
·

Hey there! First of all hope 2024 will bring you what you deserve! I’m still a beginner with Clay. I uploaded a google sheet with links to Linkedin personal profiles from Apollo. I want to extract from each link the current job duration. The issue is that I only have the option to extarct the date they started their current job, not the duration. I used the following steps as an alternative solution:

  1. 1.

Create new column with the following formula:

Convert {{Start Date - Latest Experience}} into the following format: 1 October 2021 2. I have a formula on google sheet that converts it into the duration which is 2 years and 3 months. I use it as a custom variable to personalise my email outreach on Instantly. I feel like I could skip a step and avoid burning unecessary credits. Any idea? U can see the screenshot. Thanks champs!

Alois F. you’re a beginner well on your way to becoming a pro! this is actually the most credit optimal way to do this, because you’re only spending a credit on the LinkedIn action/enrichment to get the start dates. The formulas and checkboxes aren’t burning any credits at all, they’re free actions in Clay 🙂 you’re already a pro 😉

Thank you Yash! Yash T. Talking about burning credits, I have a specific use case. Is there a way to limit or not use AI? Since I have keywords from Apollo, I could use that already and for the leads with no Keywords, I could use AI scraping? Or could I use basic webscaping? I need to filter out the leads that are not hotels but are included in the "hospitality" industry. I couldn't do that on Apollo. ex: bars, restaurants, services for hotels, etc.. My approach would be to use "Claygent (AI Web Scraper)" to scrape with AI the company Linkedin profile and qualify the right companies. I would at the same time enrich them with additional information I need. The final result could be: "luxury boutique hotel" or just "hotel" if it's not luxurious. My prompt under "Mission": "Visit the Linkedin company page. Company Linkedin Url Go to the about section of the company page. Your response: First, mention the words "luxury" or"luxurious" in your response. If none, then don't. Then, add the following without any commas (") If it is a hotel chain, say "hotel chain" If it is a hotel, say "hotel" If it is a Inn, say "Inn" If it is a BnB, say "BnB" If it is a boutique hotel, say "boutique hotel" (Note for Yash, the under is to disqualify them) If it is an agency say "agency", a rental company say "rental company", a club say "club" or none of the above say "other".

Hey Alois F.! That's a great question and you could give your AI or any other column a conditional formula so it only runs when a condition is met. Here's a quick video on how to use them/set them up - https://www.clay.com/learn/how-to-use-ai-formulas

Thanks, sorted out. I have a major issue though. The AI Clay webscraper Is returning hundreds of errors even though it worked for the first 100 or so. I ran it a second time but still doesn't work.

The Site traffic unfortunately may be limited at times and can't detect some sites. Some people also use the Store Leads integration or even use ahrefs.com with our HTTP API option to collect more data.I didn't catch the error with Claygent, looks like you modified the table already, right? It's usually related to the API key (openAI account) but happy to check if you have another example
