new trial user, I have been going through the process of identifying companies, enriching, etc then finding people... here is where my problem lies, I get 1 contact out of 33 companies in my test. Just 1 and I have it wide open on seniority, etc, and just 1. If I do a simple sales nav search I yield far more. I must be doing something wrong... tried it again on more companies, all seniorities, no titles and only got 19... and none are who I am actually targeting I just wanted some data to get it to run, learn and refine. This is such a cool software but I can't get it to yield me anything, can someone assist? thanks for taking a question from a newbie :)

    the reality is I know who I want to target and its a huge company pool and I know the specific title and dept I need, I have to be doing something wrong. On my sales nav lead list I have 2550 target contacts, thanks

    Happy to have you and to help you out with Clay! Took a quick peek at the table and tested that out with just the titles and no location but I do see what you mean. In part, this could be due to our LI integrations not using your active session or cookies to pull the data, so they could miss profiles that have privacy restrictions set up or also miss a few.

    If you prefer to generate that list in Sales Nav, then a scraping tool could help download the file to then import it into Clay for further enrichment. Let me know if you have additional questions!

    ok, I can, then the true value of Clay is the enrich contact info tools if I use my LinkedIn Sales Nav search, and then the email generation automation etc. Right now I am trying to identify my TAM. Is the only way for Clay to identify companies is by my search in LinkedIn then?

    Said another way, I'm gonna need to spend $400/m for Clay to use my LinkedIn search for email and phone number verification? The value chain for investment is what im trying to uncover... maybe this is more of a sales than support question

    That's a good one, but I do see people use the Find Companies option we have (we're continuously working on it to increase capabilities)

    Part of the advantage of using Clay is the automation, but also the data aggregation options you have with the various providers without needing an account with them directly. Unfortunately, sites and databases like LI or ZI for example, have a lot of restrictions but there are tools that work around them.Of course, there are a few that still use and take advantage of what they can offer and import into Clay for the rest.

      what other enrichments do you suggest to find companies other than LI? Maybe I missed them, apologies

    2. 2.

      on the 15 min video where they walk you through setting up your first list, at the end, it mentions a checklist to help plot out the process, can you direct me to that so I can scope my process for identification and enrichment

    Sorry for the delay! No worries, there are a few ways but it depends on what your ICP looks like. For example, you can find local businesses or use a google search to start a list. Of course, many users also like to use other sites to download lists from and bring into Clay for enrichment if that helps
