Seeking Help with LinkedIn Connections for Campaign Management

·

Hello guys, I need help with a campaign. We want to check if we have mutual connections on LinkedIn with a list of leads on Clay but I'm not 100% sure how to it without ban risks.

For checking mutual LinkedIn connections with leads, here are the recommended approaches: 1. If you have Sales Navigator, you can: • Import your Sales Navigator search results via URL in Clay's Find People Search • Use Method Filter > External List > paste your Sales Nav search URL in Query section • This allows importing up to 2,500 results per Sales Navigator Source • Each result costs 1 Clay credit 2. Alternative options to minimize risks: • Use Clay's built-in integrations which access publicly available LinkedIn profile data without requiring direct LinkedIn connection • Avoid using third-party scrapers like Apify or Phantombuster as these connect through your LinkedIn account and risk getting blocked Note that Clay works with publicly available data and doesn't require direct LinkedIn authentication, making it a safer option for accessing LinkedIn profile information while managing your credit usage.

Have you tried doing this with the HTTP API enrichment? I doubt you’ll get banned because you would only be using it on a personal basis, unless you’re building a new LinkedIn scraper to sell to the masses

    Hey!

To check mutual LinkedIn connections with your leads, you'd need to use a service like Apify that connects with your LinkedIn account via your session cookie. You can create an account with them and then connect this inside of clay as an enrichment or as a source. Let me know if you'd like more details.

Thanks Bo (.! The main problem with Apify/Phantom Buster is that it puts our LinkedIn account at ban risk

Got it! Another option you might want to check out is The Swarm.

Thanks, Daniel K.! Our team has used a similar tool (Getro) in the past, and the main challenge we faced was that it required people to sign up and link their LinkedIn accounts, which created friction. Is there any way to fix that?

    Hi there!

You could ask them to export their LinkedIn contacts and use that instead. This would eliminate the friction of requiring them to connect their LinkedIn accounts.

LinkedIn provides a way for users to export their connections directly. Here's the link to their instructions: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a566336/export-connections-from-linkedin

Let me know if you have more questions
