Copying Workspace Templates Causes Contact Misallocation Issue

·
·

Hi - Experiencing a weird issue. Tried copying a template from one workspace to a new workspace to save time setting up for a new client. One of my columns in my company table is "Update People Table" and I copied the "Find People Search ID" from an existing client as a starting point since we pull most of the same criteria, job titles etc. rather than having to type it all in again. However, it started adding contacts to my current client's Find People Table in a separate workspace (this was very problematic because it added a whole bunch of prospects for the new client, to a different client's campaign and since auto-update was on, consumed a bunch of their credits :/). It won't let me map to the new Find People table I have created for the new client.

To address your issue and prevent contacts from being added to the wrong workspace: 1. Create a new Find People search specifically for your new client: • Open your new workspace • Click "Create New" > "Table" • Choose "People Table" • Set up a new Find People search with the appropriate criteria 2. Avoid copying Find People searches between workspaces, as this can lead to data being added to the wrong client's campaign. 3. To edit an existing search: • Click on the source column in your People table • Modify the search parameters as needed • This will append new contacts based on updated filters without removing existing ones 4. Always double-check the workspace and table you're working in before running searches or imports to ensure data goes to the correct client.

Hey, thanks for reaching out! I replied in the other thread, so I’ll close this one.

These are two slightly different issues. I think the other one can be resolved with the lookup column, I'll play around with it. But this one, there's no value to match so I don't think it will work. Is there a way to remap the correct people table without having to re-enter all the find people criteria? Or would I have to just re-create the column entirely in order to map the new people table? Thinking this may also fix the other issue if done first. Stefano

Hey Doug, thanks for reaching out! For the Job Poster table, you can absolutely use a Lookup Single Row in another table and match it using a shared data point like "Job Posting URL", which exists in both the master table and the other table to uniquely identify the jobs. To link the other table, we may need to get a bit creative, using a data point like the company website could work. The key is finding or enriching a data point that’s identical in both tables to establish the link. I tested this in the Decision Maker table and had some success. Also saw that Stefano responded in another thread, let me know if you need a hand finalizing this setup! :)

Hi Owen C. the lookup won't work for this because there's no value in the people table that matches a value in the company Table. The whole is that we can't get the company info into the people table, which is the issue we're facing. So your solution will not work.

I was able to resolve this by rebuilding the table. Took a while, but it works now.
