Hi all, just getting started using Clay this week and have a couple of basic questions. I'm looking to create a list of companies in a specific industry that utilize Salesforce products. I have a list of about 800 companies and I want to run a waterfall to find out if Salesforce is being used and if so, which specific product is it. I've tried running the Full Tech Stack Waterfall which works to a degree but the problem is that if Salesforce isn't a part of the stack it spits out whatever other tech is utilized at that company. I want to set it up to where it just remains blank (or whatever best practice would be) if Salesforce isn't in the tech stack. I'm also curious to learn what is best practice for going on to run the same Waterfall for the rest of the 800 ? Should I continue to run it 10 at a time or just commit and run it across all of the companies on the list? Once I have this enhancement down, I'll only want to find people at the companies that use Salesforce products. TLDR:
What is the best way to only search for specific technology providers that I input?
How do I remove companies from a list that don't meet my requirements?
Is there a better place for me to seek help/ask these types of questions?
I'm located in San Diego.. If you're an experienced Clay user I would SO happily buy you a beer or coffee to pick your brain a bit. Offer stands if you aren't in SD but would be open to connecting virtually! Please DM if willing!
Thank you in advance 🙏
To search for companies using specific technology providers like Salesforce, you can use Clay’s integration with HG Insights. This allows you to filter for companies using particular technologies or combinations (e.g., Salesforce only, or Salesforce and not Marketo). You can also enrich your existing list with detailed technology usage data to see exactly which Salesforce products are in use . For filtering out companies that don’t meet your requirements, use the Find Companies source in Clay. This lets you apply filters such as industry, company size, location, and keywords, and you can exclude companies by referencing another Clay table (for example, to remove companies that don’t use Salesforce) . As for best practices, it’s recommended to work with focused lists of 1,000–3,000 companies for effective testing and analysis. You can run enrichments across your entire list at once, rather than in small batches, for efficiency . If you need more help or want to connect with experienced users, you can continue asking questions here. If you require human assistance, just request to talk to a person in this chat .
