Hi, my team member is inviting me to Clay. First, the invitation does not come right away; it takes 5-7 minutes. Secondly, when I click the link, it says "your session has expired". Even though the email says the link is valid for 7 days
The "session has expired" error is a common issue. Try these steps:
1. Log out of your Clay account completely
2. Hard refresh your browser:
- Mac: Cmd + Shift + R (Chrome/Firefox) or Cmd + Option + R (Safari)
- PC: Ctrl + F5
3. Log back in
4. If it still doesn't work, try an incognito/private window
5. As a last resort, restart your browser
This should resolve the session issue with the invitation link.
For the email delay (5-7 minutes), that's unfortunately normal - invitation emails can take a few minutes to arrive due to email processing times.
Is that what you were looking for?
I don't have clay account at the moment. I am asking for accepting the invitation here
Got it! Since you don't have a Clay account yet, the invitation link should create one for you automatically when you click it.
Try these steps to accept the invitation:
1. Use an incognito/private browser window - this prevents any cached session conflicts
2. Clear your browser cache and cookies completely
3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
4. Check if the invitation email is recent - even though it says 7 days, sometimes older links can have issues
The "session expired" error usually happens when there's a browser cache conflict. Using incognito mode should bypass this completely. [1]
If you're still having trouble after trying these steps, let me know and we can troubleshoot further!
Was that helpful?
i have tried in incognito, chrome, and safari browser. it still says the same
Since you've tried multiple browsers and incognito mode, this sounds like an issue with the invitation link itself. The invitation might be corrupted or there could be a server-side issue.
Try asking your team member to resend a fresh invitation - sometimes the original link gets corrupted during the email delivery process.
If the new invitation still gives you the same "session expired" error, you'll need to speak with a human agent who can investigate this further and potentially create your account manually.

the invitation was sent 3 times. still the same issue. could you connect me to a human agent?
